Here's my configuration...

Motor: 2005 (Gen1)
Turbo: Garrett GT28 "Disco Potato"
Injectors: Bosch 52lb. (550cc) with Connector Adapters
Fuel Pressure: 43psi
ECUeditor Version: 2.5.5.110
ECUeditor Map: Stock K2-K7 US, Unified Fuel and Igniton Maps, 200% Injector Size Compensation
Power Commander V - PTI (20-023-PTI): Latest Firmware (0.1.9.0) and Zero Map

Here's my goal...

Dyno tune with ECUeditor and add boost fueling using the new Power Commander V - PTI version with integrated Bosch 3bar Pressure and Temperature sensor. I have a tuner in my area that is capable of tuning with this setup and is waiting for me to bring it to him.

Here's my problem...

Without the PCV plugged in, the motor starts up, idles and revs fine. Furthermore, ECUeditor shows the TPS% steady at 0.0 when idle and increases smoothly to 100 as expected.

However, with the PCV plugged in, ECUeditor shows the TPS% at -1.6 with the ignition on and with the motor idling, it bounces around between -1.6 and 1.7. Furthermore, the motor runs very rough and quits; most of the time it won't even start. I have performed the Throttle Position Calibration several times in the Power Commander software (v1.0.6.4) and, as indicated above, the PCV is loaded with a Zero Map.

I am on my second PCV that has the same symptoms as the previous one which was replaced under warranty with the diagnostics result being inconclusive by DynoJet. Did I get two bad PCVs or does anyone have any clues as to what is causing this anomaly?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, as stated before, I did perform the Throttle Position Calibration in the PCV software several times; however, each time the values were different.

The first time I put a MOTTY AFR tuner on my Hayabusa I had the same problem. To correct this I had to ground the MOTTY as close to the ECU as possible ( 1/2 inch ).
Dont know how Dynojet does it but thats the only way on the MOTTY.

I dont know what I am talking about but I do know that I am right :)

Yngve, when you say the same problem, was it just a running issue or, using ECUeditor and looking at the data stream from the ECU, did you see the TPS% bouncing around too?

Also, was this on a Gen 1 and which pin on the ECU did you ground it to (i.e. E01, E02, E03, E1)?

In the PCV software, the TPS is steady at 0 (zero) at idle while ECUeditor shows the TPS fluctuating.

I didn't have the ECU editor at that time but the MOTTY has an 6 hour log and on that log I could see the TPS going up and down.  So much that it triggered a fault code within the MOTTY so it didn't adjust the fueling.

Tamas ( the man behind the MOTTY ) said that I had to ground the MOTTY as close to the ECU as possible to filter away the "noise".

I am guessing that the software of PCV has a build in noise filter but if that's a good thing I don't know....

On the GEN I it is pin 35 ( Black/White ) on Gen II its pin 34 ( Also Black/White ).
I dont know what I am talking about but I do know that I am right :)

Yngve, grounding the PCV to Pin 35 (E1) a half inch from the ECU solved the problem.

Thank you for your input; you saved the day!  :thumb:

Good to know. I was watching, but I didn't have anything to add. This is good info as it is likely the cause of a lare number of power commander related issues.  :tu:

So i am reading this post and thought this was a similar problem i am having..
I have 03 Busa with Bazzaz with the auto tune.
Turn key on and and turn throttle 0-100% and it reads fine.
Start the bike rev it up and once in awhile the tps would jump.
So i could not use the auto tune when it would not see the throttle position.

Grounded to pin 35 problem solved....

Thanks guys :thumb:
