Missed My Turn
« on: October 21, 2013, 07:32:49 PM »
Today I was out riding one of my favorite routes. I was having so much fun, I missed my turn. I didn't even realize it until I was deep into unfamiliar territory. I started laughing. I had to pull over to see how far pass my turn I went. I had a great ride. The traffic was just right.  :bike:

Has anyone else every missed there turn and did not realize it right away?

I was on tour in 06 and thought I had a right turn to get to some mountain pass in Colorado and I continued north thinking the turn should be just ahead.  When I saw the Wyoming border sign I knew I had gone too far....on my way back I saw three other riders heading north and stopped them to tell them what I had seen.  We all turned south and asked for directions at the first opportunity.

Mile after mile the countryside looked the same.  I had a feeling that something wasn't right but having never been there before I just kept riding.  You can cover a lot of miles in a hurry with a Hayabusa on an empty two lane....
