The post I linked to noted that it was an issue with the right side, not the left.
I'm so confused! what connector is he talking about repin o/r to o? I can't find a orange wire with red tracer!
The pins will come out of the connector body by using a small flat screwdriver and lifting the retaining clip and gently pulling the wire.
Your rt control should have two looped wires in it. One is an Orange / Red Wire. On the later bikes, the starter switch is setup so the headlight goes off while cranking. The early bikes, it just stays on and is connected with the loop. This loop needs to go to Orange wire on one side and the yellow wire on the other side. (Alternatively you may just be able to pull both the Orange wire and the Yellow wire out of the Harness side plug and connect them together).
The next two are for the front brake light circuit. This is just a dummy switch, so the polarity doesn't really matter. The control side is red/black and blue. These need to be connected to the Orange/green and black/white on the harness side.
The red and black wire needs to go to the Orange / Green wire
The Black and blue need to go to the Black / White (this is a ground wire)
As mentioned, these can be swapped, doesn't really matter.
The Other loop in the connector is no longer needed. On the early bikes, it was the "key on hot" parking light circuit. The loop supplied power to the Brake lights and a few other things. On the later harness, the connection is made on teh harness side.
