So, How many of you actually use the mode selector switch?
« on: June 04, 2013, 10:58:55 AM »
I just recently started to use C mode for my daily commute and I have to tell you, it has made one hell of a difference in mileage..I have put over 130 miles since l filled up last and the gauge still reads Full!!

Im just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same as me. I average 36-43 mpg in A mode (Depending on how much I play). I guess I will see how it goes in C.  :bike:

I like to see what I can squeeze out of it. Mainly when I'm on my 120 round trip to work.

Have never tried B or C mode long enough to check mileage, mid to upper 40's on long trips are easy in A mode, plus if I want to GO there is no looking for the fast button.

When I want mileage the EX250 comes out, lowest tank full last year was 61mpg highest was 67mpg. :thumb:

i averaged 62 mpg this go around...shifting before 4k most of the time..and staying in a higher gear for cruising..I also have a 41 tooth rear sprocket, so that helps. Im sure i can do better than 62, but i am happy about it..alot better than A mode for sure..(for better gas mileage anyways)   :beechug:

I really like it because it pops off with the push of a button and turns into a suitcase, and also its water proof. It has effected mpg a little but, the trade off is I can ride it to work and transport the things I need safely.

Now that there is no benefit from using B or C mode that I can see, I am in the process of copying and pasting A modes stp map over to B mode. My intention on doing this is to tone down the stp map in first for wheelie control while at the track, all while leaving a mode alone for the street so I can wheelie as much as I like then.

I have tried it on the street and it works great, just need to go to the track and see how it works. I really want to leave the bike as stock as possible for the track for a 9.90 pass.

I tried "C" mode on a recent trip from Indy to Key West and back with lackluster results. I actually got better mileage from "A" mode with a hair over 50 mpg! Of course, it depended on whether or not I was in a "Radar/Laser Jammer outlawed state. Kentucky was the best because I never see more than two state troopers from north to south, EVER!

Thanks Steve, glad somebody else said something first, I realize a dudes ride is his and what he wants to hang on it is his business, and being my other bike is a Harley geezer glide I can see the use, but dam, as much as I hate backpacks I'd have the biggest one I could find...........
The older you get do you notice you start chickening out way before the bike does
