Last minute thrash, so much fun . Yesterday we put the fairing on, it touched the fender. Pulled the fork tubes off the other bike. I was tapping a fork tube , the hammer bounced off and crushed the kill switch, had to take the one off the other bike. So much fun!! :hys:

Daveeeed, I have a Gen II that has the same problem been up and down all over it, don't know if it is hardware, software, electrical, bad living, drinking too much, drinking too little, sunspots just don't f-ing know.
It runs like a million bucks on the dyno, scares the poop out of me on the street.
A couple weeks ago as I was working on the thing determined to get to the root of the problem before BUB my Karl moment came to me, screw it, stop wasting time on something that doesn't really matter just crank the idle up and run it.
Have a Harley, spent lots of money on it, thought I had a fast motorcycle, bought a Busa, realized all I had was a fast Harley, not a fast motorcycle!

My 750 started acting bad at low RPM this year as well, pre-boost.

Pulled off the check valve to my Map sensor and it had gone bad.

Put the sensor straight to the Vacuum line and now it works great.

Just something you could look at.  :tu:

5 days of work left for me then on to Wendover
Maybe this year?

How does yr HP dyno curve look?
Like a work of art. Freakn beautiful. Setting the cam's at 108/108 was the right thing to do.

If I can't get the problem resolved, I'll run it like it is. I'm putting it back on Jim's dyno next Sunday. Jim thinks it's related to something on the low end of the map.

One things for sure, I'm all-in, just like the rest of ya. If I'm gonna show up with any hope what so ever to run faster than any of you, my shit better be perfect.

OK, enough chit chat. I'm back into the garage to clean the fuel injectors and replace the pump.

Daveed,
are you changing out the pump without testing delivery pressure?

Never a bad idea to get yr injectors cleaned/tested.  Who are you sending 'em to?

No, the bike (and I) won't be ready until next season.

What are your goals Fred? If you don't mind posting race plans.

Yup, Just changing the pump without checking the pressure.
I have always been concerned that using any fuel other than Chevron or whatever tends to degrade the pump, but I don't know what I'm talking about, just guessing.
I got the pump last year and never used it. It's a nice new Bosch (not from china).

I don't have a fuel pressure gauge for the bike.... guess I should get one.

I will clean one set of injectors myself with my ultrasonic cleaner, and then spray bardall through them using
60lb of pressure.
If I can find sombody to clean mine and get them back to me within two weeks I'll do it.

Who do you recommened to clean injectors?

Daveeed if you find somewhere close for those injectors let me know , i will have a rush job when i get there

Flow at running pressure is more important than just the pressure , a pump can flow 200ml/min  or 2000ml/min at running pressure
measuring the flow at the tank return lets you see the condition of the pump and filters

Dean, Thanks , be sorry not to catch up again this yr

All those going to Speedweek, Have fun, Go fast, Be safe

Go fast Greg.

Daveed, call MPS Racing, they clean and flow test injectors in one day, $25 each.

if yr bike is making hp on dyno, i doubt that yr pump is bad...

Jim, really appreciated! I'm sure there will be tons of questions once we get there. :)

To add: DHL delivers our stuff to Salt Lake City where first group of us will be flying to 16th of Aug. Rest of us (including me) will fly there on 21st. We are staying at Montego Bay @ Wendover.

Jarim, Scott at Headsup in Sandy (SLC) will be the guy to check your tuneup at the altitude you will be running
just be sure to give him lots of warning , he gets very very busy at this time of year , think you have his contact details for the NOS .

Oz, thanks for the heads up but I don't think we will be needing dyno with MoTec onboard. It basically adjusts itself to asked lambda figure and logs everything so maps can be adjusted later for closer correct values. :)
