What year tank? How to setup for external pump?

I bought this tank off the boards from a guy who told me it was an 03' tank. I purchased an external fuel block-off/an fitting plate along with everything I thought I would need to setup the tank with an external pump.

What year tank is this? I think it may be a 99...

What exactly do I need to allow me to connect an fittings to this tank?

Its a 99-2000 tank, one hole is the petcpck and one is sending unit for fuel level, its not an 03 tank.  you would need someone to make a custom plate for both and put an bungs in them, one for out and one for return

Technically, Suzuki should be able to give you one, since they originally were designed for an external pump...

In the application I was going to apply this tank to I didnt need a factory sending unit and fuel cock, which is why I was looking for the plate in the first place. Turns out if anyone stocks these on the shelf they dont market it well, hell if I can find them!

Rick @rickscustomcycles did say he could make me the plates, of course I found this out only after I had already purchased a factory sending unit and fuel cock. Good to know if there is ever a need in the future.

My guess nobody bothered to make this plate because in the beginning couple years of the busa with this tank setup nobody had the need to go with an aftermarket plate with An fittings and all. The plates that are out there are all for the 5bolt newer 01+ tanks.

you should have sold that tank and bought a newer one.  An 03 tank isnt that expensive.

If it were only that simple. The tank matches all of other custom painted bodywork. The seller of the body work told me it was all 03....
