Mirock 4.60
« on: November 06, 2013, 11:34:47 PM »
I have already PM some members about this Topic so I figured I'd post it also. If you don't want to share you can PM me with an answer as well. Thanks

I'm running Mirock 4.60 next season. Gen1 busa, 74" wheelbase grudge chassis. slider what size motor & nos shot would I need to run 4.60? Little motor alot of nos or big motor little nos? My objective is to be able to have something thats kind of  reliable to make it threw the season if possible.

A 1507 and 100 shot would do it if your nitrous is flowing correctly. Set it up with 12:1 compression and a good head with 425 cams and big exhaust valves. If you run more compression you can use less nitrous but then your tune is less forgiving if your a little off. Your gonna need an auto trans. At least a 1,2,3 auto. If set up correctly it will last all season. In the off season change your pistons, rings, bearings, valve springs and do a valve job. Maintain it and it will last. PM Steve Knecum. He has an abundance of knowledge and can tell you how to make a 1507 live all season. His advice works.

Thanks for the info. Funny you said that, Steve & me have been sending PM's back in forth about this all last week. I'm just trying to get away from the bracket and run everything head-ups. 4.60, 8.88, and 5.60

Wrong site for this question. These guys aren't really into MiRock and many don't run any where near 4.60. Knecum is your best bet for info and parts or you can stick with Rodney also. Anyone that can make a  6.25 crank last for a season of mile racing with no refresh has to know what he is doing.

1397 with a 100 shot or a 1363 with a 200 shot.  big shots like that are violent. dont cheap out on your nitrous controller.

Thats the magic combo everyone is telling me. Most people that have that combo that have responded to my PM's between this board & pyschobike are telling me their running 70's. I've learned most of the people also run grudge so I get why this info is 007 lol...

That 1397 with 100 shot won't be enough. A 1441 with a 100 shot would do it depending on rider/bike weight. I have no experience with a 1363 with nitrous. 4.60 is pretty fast. Your right......The controller is the main thing on a no bar bike.

4.60 is pretty fast.

You are damn right it is.

How quick have you been on a bike TJones?

Build it strong and go out and have fun. If you don;t end up getting close enough, put it in ProET while you are getting it dialed in.
Any day on a motorcycle like this that ends just needing parts and labor is a good day.

5.0's  1.19 60's on motor. I still need to get a shock for the nos, I still run stock one now. Im going to keep running Top Sportman and built another motor for that 4.60 class. Well thats the plan as of now.

The best I've been in the 1/8th is 4.80s. 1507 with a 60 shot. 635lb package maybe more. It's gonna take a lot to do it with a no bar bike. It can be done though just gonna have to be right. 4.70 will get you some rounds.

Your setup working good for you, I remember when you told me you had the nos turned down! I think Im just getting bored and want to go faster. I would love to run Pro street, but its out of my budget. I've already chopped the bike up, so Real street is out the question as well. So I was aiming for 4.60. I just didnt want to spend the money on nos, shock, wego, and controller and not cover 4.60 just to run Top sportman. Which I cover on motor. I brought some cases so I figure I'll just build another motor that I know will cover 4.60  :brw:

I have made the decision to try and run the 4.60 class. I'm gonna test at VMP on March 1 & 2. If I see a couple 4.60's in the mix of passes I will run the 4.60 class with you...... :bike:

Gotta lose about 10-15lbs from me and 10-15 form the bike. Then add some more dope!

Cool. I keep hearing more and more say their running it this year so should be a good turn out. I have to finish the other bike for Crazy 8 so I'm going to start the season running Top Sportsman then make the crossover to 4.60. I might try to come test with you March 1
