Karl,
I know we have normal aeros & extreme aeros but what about folks like Mike Brakel running FAST with stock aeros , like no cut-down tank....can't remember is he has a long tail.
Dan
Dan, as you might guess, I paid very close attention to "the plastic" of my competitors when I was running Greenie.
IMO for the Busa, the Catalyst-style plastic is barely, if at all, consistently, measurably faster than well taped off stock plastic.
The exception is the SoLow tank. It does make it easier for the average guy, especially a fat ass like me, to go a couple mph more. But, i'll put big money on Sal, Greg Neal, yr boys on a stock tank vs "average guy" on a SoLow tank.
Bottom line is I don't see enough of an advantage of most aftermarket plastic over stock to make another "class" in the 200+mph list.
IMO extreme plastic is a whole other ballgame, a step change, a BIG step change.
Just look at the Guppy, 250mph NA!!! 25-30MPH OVER THE COMPETITION!!!!!
I didn't go extreme plastic because i don't really like the way it looks, but the speed is there.
Again, just my opinion.
Hey you serious NA competitors: wanna go 240-250mph in a mile? It's "simple"
1. copy Bill Warners or the Guppy's extreme plastic
2. get a reliable motor with 280-290 Dynojet hp
3a. Set up: bike configured to faciltate technique
b. Technique: don't waste 1 inch of track, don't squander 1 hp, don't make any mistakes
I predict 250 NA in a mile, yup.
