Well, i`m using E85, but can`t understand why it`s rated as a power adder. I don`t think these other guys are using pump gas ?

It is rated as a "power adder" because:

1) It is not 100% gasoline, which is generally required to meet "the rule."

2) With E85, one can increase the compression substantially,
and get more power - kind of like a "power adder."

Why are you using E85 ?

I don't know that E85 is considered a "power adder" per say. It just isn't gasoline. It's alcohol. Since it's not gasoline it moves you from gas class to fuel class(at least with all the sanctioning bodies here in the states anyway). You are still naturally aspirated. You're just running alcohol instead of gas.

You are also correct that nobody on this list is running pump gas(myself included).

Well, i`m not meeting the rules then.
There are limits raising the compression with E85, and you can go past that limit with several VP race gasolines. The comp i`m using is 3 steps lower than what Karl had in his Carpenter kit. There`s a power adder there, i mean the Carpenter kit  :D
And why i`m using it (?) I was using VP race gas before and noticed it came quite expensive when i`m riding on the street also, E85 costs sixth what VP does, and i can get it from pump here. Now my bike is modified from street to race by bolting off the mirrors, turn signals, license plate and changing gearing.

I think Lloyd might be using pump gas.

I fully understand.

It is not necessarily that you have "more power,"
it's that you are using "not gasoline.

The speeds listed here are an officially measured,
listed by the sanctioning body ( ECTA, Loring, etc),
and are NOT necessarily a record.

From time to time, I will try to update this list.

By all means contact me if you find someone
belonging on this list.  Try to include a way to
find the verification of the speed.

Loring, ECTA list many old speeds and records,
so for the time being. why don't we make the
bottom cut-off over 220 mph.

Much of the ECTA history in "buried" on
their website www.ecta-lsr.com

Loring has been racing from about 2007, and has
a new website at www.loringrtiming.com
The website is still a work-in-progress,
and older information, as well as the
2013 speeds and records are either hard to find,
or not yet posted.

So, what are these n/a motors burning ?
.  All of our teams records in NA were set with c44 fuel. It's non oxygenated. Larry never believed in using a fuel that has an advantage when running in a gas class..

An interesting sidelight on the gasoline question:

Up until the (maybe) late 1970's at Bonneville for
the motorcycle racers, gasoline meant PUMP GAS !

C12 or C44 it wasn't !

DaveO made the 220.312 pass.........Rick upped it later in the day.
A couple years later DaveO asked my youngest Chad to make a few passes on his bike. It was the June meet and hot, Chad ran the 221.8 pass.
Over the next couple months DaveO freshened the engine up with anticipation of Chad running some bigger numbers in the September's cooler air and stouter engine. At that meet DaveO wanted to do a shakedown pass before turning Chad loose on it.....what a sad day.
Still missing you Dave, what a talented & great guy.
