Carpenter sets his street 210 wHP 1300cc drive in package at 112/114.

It would be interesting to know how much comp that needs to keep it alive at low revs (?)

Last year I ran Chevron premium 91.  They have Shell 100 available in the pump here in Cali.  I was considering VP MR12 this year for Mojave.
Bob

91 Octane.  Yuck!  Unless your detonating, octane is not your friend.  My 14, yeah, I know it's green, even at 13.3:1 ran fine on 87 and made almost 2 hp more than on 91.  I had great success with MR9 and MR12 until I converted to E85.  Just make sure that you drain and purge with pump gas after each event.

I agree with your octane statement. But you cannot compare 91 pump to VP 87 (MR12). It's not an apples to apples comparison. VP does not use the same method for octane rating. Their 87 is more like 93 pump (only as far as octane rating) as has been pointed out to me by Ransom. But I would most definitely run MR12...It's horsepower in a can!  :thumb:

Oh, I'm absolutely not comparing pump gas of any flavor to the VP fuels.  What I'm saying is that if you are going to use plain ole' pump gas, you're not doing yourself any favors by running premium.

The MR fuels are the schitz :tu:  It's funny to me how I have friends who are always telling me "There's no way I'm gonna spend $22 a gallon on fuel".  I'm thinking, "Really? After spending $2500 in entry fees, fuel, hotels, meals, etc. to travel to Texas and race, I'm gonna worry about another $125 for a pail of fuel that might make the difference?"

A couple of years ago at Mojave, I ran a total of 13 runs, all over 198 with a best of 199.9.  If I had've skimped on fuel, I'd have slit my wrist

Granted it is hard to pony up $30.00 a gallon for MR12 but if you use hp/$ it is cheap.
Have a Harley, spent lots of money on it, thought I had a fast motorcycle, bought a Busa, realized all I had was a fast Harley, not a fast motorcycle!
