IIRC, there was a low MPH tailwind, very rare for Wilmington, but nothing "to write home about".

Didn't go well for me, first pass off the trailer I had some electronic issues with the airshifter.  From the datalogs : it looks like the bike tried to double shift going into 2nd which put my nitrous system in 3rd.  100 HP shot in 2nd on a stock wheel base isn't good. Lifted the front and spun the wheel, smacked the rev-limiter really hard. Shifted again and got the double shift, putting the nitrous system in 5th gear .. 175 HP shot but in 3rd now.  Blew the tire away, engine was living on the limiter.  I tried to shift again, but it was so hard in the limiter it didn't shift at all.   Lost 3 grounding straps off the plugs.  So discussed, that I haven't pulled the head yet.

The rest of the year for me actually went very well.  I decided not to run a number but to turn the nitrous down and work on technique (self and bike) and finesse.  Did many runs above 230 and a few in the 238.+ range with less spray than the year before.  I only put the spray back up for September, just to have crap to happen.

John and Allen Levie took seven (7) SCTA records
during World of Speed, including Allen getting
into the Bonneville 200 MPH Club
in the Scott Guthrie Racing sidecar -
the same bike that got his son John
into the Club in 2013.

Scott, is this the same sidecar? I see your rental car in the background :)

Mike told me Sunday morning that the condition was a little better on Saturday with the slight tailwind.

It's so easy to get caught up in the BIG numbers with the power adders available but to me the 224+ that Mike rode was fantastic, that speed on motor with stock bodywork is very, very impressive. I'm thinking he said it still wasn't a picture perfect run.

Mike and Steve really done good!

Dan

Sorry Scott, back to the regular scheduled program...........
