engine / frame alignment
« on: May 18, 2014, 04:35:33 AM »
Hello

Looking for abit of help here, had a stoker 5mm crank fitted to my busa motor, i have been told the top front engine mounts now wont line up ? anybody out there done a similar mod and had to alter the frame.

I have had a search on the forum but cannot find the answer to it, only things like people want to put a busa motor in a gixxer 1000

what did you and how did you go about it ?

Many thanks

It should fit with a 5 mil.  Some people oval out the hole in the frame to fit a big crank.

There's not a lot you can do, open the holes in the frame of the bike, or like one we did and the customer did not want the frame modified so we welded the bolt holes in the head and redrilled and tapped them to make up for the deck height change
The older you get do you notice you start chickening out way before the bike does

Open up the 2 thru holes in the cases or the 4 upper mount frame holes.

Steve, we gave the cust the options explaning that the holes in the frame would not really need that much, he wanted the holes moved, he was paying, so we moved them :|
