With the amount of technical issues they had with the lights and such, it may be there are no official results to be posted. We had a good tailwind for the morning runs, but unfortunately, the wind is what blew over the lights. In the afternoon it went to a crosswind and by late afternoon, it was a strong one. That track has a lot of promise due to how good the surface is there. I hope they get the issues sorted out in time to hold another one there this fall that's just a race. We need more room for parking and with the air/car show in conjunction with the race, it didn't leave enough for the participants. This was the third year it's been held, but the first year for the particular group that put it on. I would have liked to get a lot more runs in and if they had been able to keep the runs going at the pace they started, things would have been grand. The speed display for the pits didn't work and they couldn't broadcast because of interference. I hope they can get the issues worked out and will do it again with some changes.
Hmmmmm.... well yes......
1) I thought the event was "produced" by NASA,
the same folks that put on the Goliad and Beeville
races, with maybe 10 years or more experience.
How could they NOT put on a great show ?
2) Compared to Beeville:
a) Better track
b) Close to Houston
c) Sleep and eat at home
d) save a LOT on travel expenses.
3) How could there NOT be a lot of bikes
racing ?
4) I thought Houston was a hot-bed of LSR activity.
5) How could all these Houston racers NOT support their "home-town track ?"
6) Everybody suddenly not give a shit anymore ?
