Headlines from todays Elvington.
« on: June 17, 2014, 09:28:25 AM »
Becci (anglepaws) Ellis has taken advantage of todays excellent dry and still conditions to run 243.5 mph in the mile followed by another personal best of 247.4 mph  :tu:
There is an hour left so she could go faster. :bike:

So glad to see that racing continues at Elvington,
and that today, all were safe.

250 mph for a woman on a bike is one
of the last "major" accomplishments
to be had, and it like Becci is in front.

Congrats to her and her team !

No need for car record, thanks, but If Becci Ellis holds the bike track record, that can be listed in the 1 mile list. I think she is the first woman to hold a track record  :thumb:  -Dean

We had another testing day at Elvington today and again Becci was fastest at 248.5 mph into a slight headwind to equal her record.
Her team tried out a few new things which did not seem to make any improvements but given the conditions it was a good result  :tu:

Was there an open event, or was this a private test session?

No it was a normal Top Speed Tuesday open to anybody and about 20 riders took part split between top speed and Wheelie riders testing for next months main event.
The day is good for trying different things because you can do almost back to back runs to check alterations without having to queue.
I left early to pick up a bike so not sure of any other results yet but as far as i know there were no improvements to any of the riders best speeds.
Mine is still in bits but should return for the August event.
