Our tracks cater to cars. They open on a few Saturdays a month.
They claim it's due to the bad economy but the pits and staging lanes are always full...so that story doesn't hold water.
If you don't like racing, don't open a race track!

Racing here in north pa/upstate ny is horrible. I think it's the lack of bikes in general. I had to et a full time job and switch to part time at my bike shop just to pay bills. I hoping something changes or I will just be building engines for friends soon

Its great in Texas.Almost every track in Texas will let us race in their car classes. And I don't blame most of them for not catering to bike guys.Lets be honest, have you seen how most bike guys act during a race?

I'm in Texas...from my experience, our bike racers are very professional and overly courteous, considering how we're treated.
So tell us, exactly, how do most bike guys act during a race? :crap:
I'm sure most bike guys here would love to hear how they act during a race.

Im 3 time track champ were I bracket race. The way I see it guys running track r out there sweating so we can have fun,I  respect them always clean up after myself ect. WE kind of police ourselves biggest problem 10 mph speed limit off track have had guys want go fast in pit erea +return lane cant do that.I have seen car guy floor it leaving with trailer cuz mad about something that's crazy theres kids there.Alcohol 2 somebody could have a beer in your pit erea but if they walk on track erea with you could b thrown out 4 year+lose all points of course no drinking at all if racing.

Must be a local thing...

We also had problems with guys not wanting to get NHRA memberships and licenses. Then there is the delay box argument, etc.Track managers have so many cars that they don't want to deal with it.What track do you run at?

Move to NC and you wont have these problems.  Theres at least 10 tracks within an hour from me.  That number triples if i wanna drive 2 hours.  I can race 5 days a week.

Ohhh...  I wish it was like that here.  I got a good track 20 min from the house.  Next closest good track I go to is a 8 hour drive. Other tracks I travel to are a 10-11 hour drive.  Kind of a big empty hole of drag strips around Idaho.  No heads up racing at local track. I went to Woodburn two weeks ago (by Portland OR.  8 hours each way).  Thinking of going their again this weekend....

Tell all those Fontana guys to go up to Sacramento in October.  I know Auggie, Gaige, Thad, and Darryl are usually their.

My local track is Ben Bruce Memorial Raceway in Evadale, Tx. We have Royal Purple, HMP and Pine Valley within 1-1/2 hrs of here.
Most of the bikes that run here are from Louisiana.
We also had the issue of some of the bikes not wanting to license. Our management didn't have issue with bikes until the car drivers started griping because we were hot lapping...basically, because we get more runs in because we didn't have to go to the pits and check plugs, adjust valves or rebuild our engines after every run.

I've told him that already, said he should park the scuba tank and barnacle brush, and take pics, there are 3 or 4 guys that park all weekend at the Dragon, and as understand it a couple of them actually make a living at it  8)

Actually two of the best bike series around are the Texas Grudgefest based in Kennedale Texas and the PMRA races  based in Oklahoma. They both get a pretty good turnout and are very well organized.

Here in VA, we have the Mirock series.  8 races between 3 tracks, MD, NC and NJ.  Then there are at least 4 other tracks off the top of my head.   But the Mirock series is def the best

Sikeston, MO was having motorcycle races this year, but we couldnt get more than 6-8 bikes to show up.

I don't expect them to have any next year.

5 bikes showed up at the NHRA race to win a little Wally. :td:
