Cable vs hydraulic clutch

Can you guys tell me the differences (other than the obvious) between using a cable clutch and a hydraulic clutch? Also what might be the advantages of each in land speed application and what are the drawbacks. Any pointers you might have for someone using a cable clutch. Thanks!

For a cable clutch, lubricating it is a must do. For hydraulic clutches I suppose the fluid could get hot like brake fluid does in full speed runs but I have no first hand knowledge of this even though my Busa has a hydraulic clutch. I seldom run it WOT for any length of time.

We have super heavy clutches so it may not be as relevant to your application , but i prefer the busa hydraulic to the 750 cable , too much friction and maintenance on the salt for my liking with the cable

Yup, the 750 is a bear where the hydraulic on Busa much easier. Headed to see Scott Stites tomorrow about a transplant of Busa hydraulic to the 750.
