aftermarket fuel system help
« on: January 24, 2015, 05:24:48 PM »
I am about to start my fuel system on my 1441. I have a  inline fuel pump , aeromotive regulator and stock rail. My question is the lines.  Fuel cell to filter to pump to bottom of the regulator  then to rail? Ths third opening on the regulator is the return line?? Is that right

Assuming you have a multi port fuel rail, Pump to one side of rail. Other side of rail return to regulator. Bottom of regulator back to tank, block off extra port in the regulator.

What fuel rail are you using?

I guess I am an idiot and didn;t read that you have a stock rail.

Two options. Either plumb it the way you posted, or get some "billet" fuel rail feeds from RCC and treat it as if it were a multi-port rail. Either way is likely fine for what you will be making.

I've used upgraded in take pumps and stock rails for the HP levels you will be at.

I had a walbro intank and it did just fine but I just cut my rails.  The regulator ,the bottom is the feed? The right side goes y o the rail and left is return? Thats what I remember from my last one but ifs been a while.  Also anyone know what a stock crushed regulator  psi is? Isnt stock fuel pressure like 25 psi?

If you are going to dead head it (stock style), you will feed a regulator from a side port, and feed the rail from the other side port, with the bottom going back to the tank. Your regulator won't do that...

The regulator you have is better suited for a return, flow thru rail. I would get a pair of inserts for the stock rail and make it a floe through rail rather than use a tee and deadhead it.

It will work with a Tee, not all that much difference dead heading with a multi port regulator or a Tee

I am sure i  have seen a fuel fitting for gen 2 rail  and i thought it was RCC
