Swap busa transmission on GSX1400
« on: February 18, 2015, 10:15:45 AM »
Recently my friend found an interesting feature. On his Hayabusa 1 gen transmission broke. He got all the transmission assembly from Suzuki GSX1400, and it's fits into the crankcase Hayabusa without alterations. Clutch basket, he left by Hayabusa. Transmission of the GSX 1400 has different gear ratios for the first and sixth gear. Which may be useful for us.
Hayabusa :
Gear ratios :
1 - 2.615
2 - 1.937
3 - 1.526
4 - 1.285
5 - 1.136
6 - 1.043
GSX1400:
1-2,916 (35/12)
2-1,937 (31/16)
3-1,526 (29/19)
4-1,285 (27/21)
5-1,136 (25/22)
6-1,000 (24/24)

I know one guy thats used a 1400 transmission, he figured the taller 6th and lower 1st suited tall gearing for a lsr streamliner better than the bigger steps of an overdrive transmission
America does not have the gsx1400
