Hows Jordans bike?

Shift based, Time based, straight linear ramp...all can be used. There is no magic bullet that will get you there, just need more seat time and work to get more power down as soon as you can. As for gearing, whatever you are comfortable with and can put the most power down with. Huge range of gearing is being used successfully by many different setups.
Any day on a motorcycle like this that ends just needing parts and labor is a good day.
