What to bring to Boniville?
« on: March 18, 2015, 11:28:41 PM »
What should I bring with me? I have the basics but I'm betting there may be a few items I won't know enough to bring. Any thoughts?

Thanks all. I'm going to the Bonniville Motorcycle time trials. Any tire changers on site?

There is a guy behind the Truck stop on the way in that maybe able to, but we bring them already mounted on spare rims.
If Al Lamb is there he brings one.

Bring everything you can think of to repair your bike, then you won't have to use it but someone else will need it. Then what you forgot you can borrow from someone who brought all of their stuff that they aren't going to use and so it goes. If you have something that is weird on your bike say a 4.794 mm muffler bearing where a standard bearing is 4.750 mm, bring it. Sprockets. Gear charts. The little fasteners that you are going to drop and lose like the push rivets in the fairing.

Fruit sprayer with water jugs to feed it. Drain pans you can use to wash parts in. Case of brake cleaner. Tons of paper shop towels with a garbage can with lid. Hand cleaner. Toilet paper. Lots of cash to pay for onsite fuel. Visqueen/large tarp to cover the salt surface in you pit area. Costco flats of drinking water. Folding chairs.

I'm going to leave my beer at home and drink Jim's this year, sounds like he's bringing a bunch. Thanks Jim! :tu:

Have a Harley, spent lots of money on it, thought I had a fast motorcycle, bought a Busa, realized all I had was a fast Harley, not a fast motorcycle!

The other guys provided excellent guidance. Plastic totes, a spare pair of shoes, pre mount your tires.

However nobody has mentioned the bar. the greatest bar in the world, and Mecca for us Land Speeders is.....

Carmon's Black and White. To fully experience Bonneville, one must have a couple beers every night at Carmon's,
lots of pictures on the walls, and everyone in the place is a freakn gearhead.
The Mexican joint down the street from Carmon's ain't half bad either.

Truly, Carmon's is the place.
