Our second meeting of the year was blessed with good conditions considering its April and we had a dry track with a 12/13mph tailwind gusting up to around 20mph at times that dropped as the day went on to 6/8 mph.
Becci Ellis was first out of the trailer with a 247.584 mph in the morning but a damaged selector meant this was the last time she saw 6th gear so restricted to 5 gears she could go no faster.
Jack Frost on the other hand was on fire with FIVE 260 mph runs mostly in the afternoon after the wind dropped with a best last run of 263.912 mph getting very close to Becci's track record.
Les Marsh pushed his best speed to 242.198 mph and Jack and Jason King shared a ride of Jacks ZX10R turbo with the smaller body size of Jack at 220.670 mph and jason at 215.390 mph.
Mike Grainger had a few runs on his former British record holding Busa with a best of 234.684 mph and I ran a 225.161 but managed to boil the brakes due to either an airlock or dodgy brake fluid, stopped me OK but failed on the return road.
Nev Moss crept over the 200 mark on his road kit Big CC turbo ZX12R at 200.542 mph and that completed the scores of the turbo bikes.
The only other bike to crack 200 on the day was the rider known as "The Baron" who ran his stock ZZR1400R with just a reflashed ECU by John Warrington to a best of 200.586 mph which is not bad considering it was only his second meeting.
Next up is the two day meeting in May which is our official records event so I hope the conditions are as good.
