Tachometer sensor.
« on: April 17, 2015, 05:25:35 PM »
Hello, I have an 02 Busa.
The tachometer operation is very erratic.
I believe I broke the sensor where the drive gear is located on the left side of the bike.

Could any one confirm this and if you have a part number and price for replacement.
Also the parts name.
I believe I broke this when I broke the chain and it 'slapped thru' the drive sprocket breaking the cover there.

Can anyone confirm my suspicions?

Thank you very much.

Also is there a site where I could see exploded views for the Busa.....say the factory microfiche online?

IIRC the tach is an output from the ecu to the panel... the sensor you are thinking about on the drive is speedo.  Unplug and inspect the ECU and speedo, if you see anything green, clean it up.
