Two day British National records Meeting Elvington
« on: May 11, 2015, 01:35:00 PM »
This weekend 16th/17th will see the 2015 records meeting and at the moment it looks fair weather wise.
There are a few riders on a mission for various records so it should be interesting.
We are also expecting the first appearance of the mighty Kawasaki H2 road going version.
Stay tuned over the weekend and signal permitting I will post updates from the airfield.

No chance of updates from the track as the signal is useless but the weekend went off without any more than a brief shower and a tailwind averaging 14 to 16 mph gusting to 24 mph but veering slightly at times.

Becci Ellis was fastest of the weekend at 263.75 mph and Jack Frost was second with 260.66 mph although Jack did pick up a new two way average British record of 253.723 mph.

Other notable performances came from Les Marsh who now holds the UKs fastest grandfather record at 249.74 mph a new PB and the former British record holder and previous fastest grandfather Mike Grainger with a 241.1 mph.

Zef Eisenberg ran 233.09 mph on the madmax Y2K based naked turbine bike and stuntmaster Gary Rothwell ran 215.48 on a Holeshot naked Busa.
Me at 224.24 mph,Barry Miller at 207.38 and Terry Smith buth on normally aspirated big bore busas and James Deegan on a turbo busa at 204.05 completed to over 200 mph runners.

Excellent speeds, thanks for the report Ken. The naked list is updated - Zef Eisenberg is now the fast naked rider NOT on a Hayabusa.

About time one of those POS turbine bikes ran a decent time. At Goliad one ran several times . I dont think it ever got over 170, same at Bonneville.

Thanks Ken for the updates.

Did the new H2 make any passes?

Gary Rothwell, been a long time since I've heard his name. We've seen him several times doing stunts NO one dreamed of a few years ago. The guy was amazing.

Thanks for the well-written report, Ken.

Nice to see Jack keeping with it.

Also VERY nice to see the "fastest British Mother"
maintaining her string of over 260mph runs going.

This is now four (4) runs over that magic mark, yes ?

That Madmax bike has had a lot of work including an upgraded turbine and water/methonal injection to give it a massive power output 500+ bhp rumoured to be up to 700 bhp.
The H2 had only 500 miles on the clock and is currently restricted to 185 mph,it wheelies off the throttle in the first four gears and reached the limiter just after the half mile mark. There will also be a race version at the next event when the road going version should be de-restricted.
Becci could have snatched the two way record from Jack but a bit of a top end rattle prevented a return run within the time allowed.
