Life is something, I finally get the bike I've always wanted (Hayabusa) and then I ride something that just blows my mind (Super Duke)

Dump the Busa and get the Duke.  A Busa will NEVER be a Duke.  Two different fruits like apples and oranges.

You are 100% right brother !!  :thumb: I guess after years of hearing about Hayabusas I was expecting too much.
To me, The Super Duke 1290 R is much more mind blowing than my Busa.

Turbo 015, SEJ and CJ...................You guys are just like my first wife - Ya Don't Fuggin' Listen!!!!!!!

The man already said I wuz right and his Busa is for sale  after which -SUPERDUKE 1290.................End of Story, guys.

Truth be told, if wifey would throw me another 20K, (and believe me she has got that...........and about 175K more/inheritance),

I would have both my Busa AND a nice new Superduke 1290.   That would be a blast!!!!

Ghost-Geezer, I hear you loud and clear! I would love to own a Duke myself. But if you can only own one bike and had to live with it every day at 52...

I'm with you on owning them both!
I love road racing, drag racing, land speed racing, and I ride on the street almost everyday this time of year.
I can't decide, so I own eight bikes. It might sound nice, but it's a big pain in my hind end because I don't have the time.

Own them both.  Get the Busa "speed-breathed-on" and lightened/tuned with the pipe change and RIDE THEM BOTH!!!!!!!!!!!! :tu: :bike:

That's the point! BadNasty08 has to decide on ONE bike to be and all rounder, do everything motorcycle!

The Busa wins hands down!!!

My Hayabusa is a much better all around bike than the Super Duke, especially when my 2 sons and I ride to Colorado
to carve up those mountain roads eventually.
My oldest son has a 2012 Ninja ZX-10R, my youngest has the 2014 Super Duke & a 2014 Ducati 1199 Panigale.

BadNasty08...I'm older than you and younger than Ghost-Geezer. As BAD as that Duke is, you'll be much happier in the long run with the Busa. A couple of small mods and the Duke will be in your mirrors!

I'm sticking with my Busa, it really is an awesome bike. If I go with a 17 tooth front sprocket do I need a new chain? Speedo corrector?

Same chain, speedo healer if you want. It will read fast, but once you figure out how fast you are actually traveling, by gps or one of those radar signs that says"this is your speed" you'll pretty much know. The biggest issue is the odometer.

I forgot about that, I'll probably leave the gearing stock.

When I said the"odometer is the biggest issue", I meant on your decision to go with the mph correction or not. If you decide to correct it, the odometer is also "corrected".

Change the gearing!!!!

Would you put a new rear sprocket on too at the same time? My stock ones have 4,900 miles on them.
Is changing the front easy, I hate working on stuff.

Front sprocket is easy and leave the stock rear sprocket alone.

But we're talking about an everyday all purpose street bike, not a street/ strip bike. One down in the front is perfect.

I'm stopping with what I've done (Flash & Windscreen) I love to ride bikes, but I hate working on a them. (No Patience)
Having to remove fairings and stuff makes the Busa not very maintenance & mod friendly.
Thanks guys.

After finally getting a chance to log some decent miles (205) this weekend, the first "mod" needs to be HeliBars.

I've had them on all 3 of my Busas, makes it a little more comfortable for us old farts.

Took a few pics for comparison when installing mine,Heli on the clutch side(and that's with a Brock's top tree, with a stock tree they'd be even higher though I don't know if you'd have issues with masters hitting the screen without a little jockeying stuff around).

Do they make a big enough difference to mess with?

I have these spacers on my '03. They raise and bring the bars closer to you. I was able to use stock cables and brake/ clutch lines. (Barely)
