New rider and busa owner here.
« on: June 26, 2015, 08:07:12 PM »

Most people I have talked to call me crazy and say they are surpised I am still alive for having a hayabusa for my first bike.  The guy I bought the bike from says a busa is a wise decision for first bike cause its safer and is more comfortable compared to other bikes.  I just love how these bikes look and I dont think there is another bike out there that can compare to our busas.

Thanks.  I love it to and cant wait to learn more about it so i can do a few things to it.

I wanna start off with lowering it and extending the rear tire out a few inches.

OK, pretty sure there's a rotary exhaust in your future now.

You'll eliminate the cornering abilities by lowering it and sticking the rear out.  It's a very stable bike the way Suzuki made it.  Good luck with your experience with it.

You ain't that old.  I rode Harleys from 73-98 and I am old enuf to be your older brother.  I rode British stuff from 68-73.  Jap stuff from 98 to now.

My first Japanese bike was a 95 GPZ 1100..............basically a ZX 11 motor and carbs with more midrange cams but not the peaK HP of a ZX11.  Made around 115 at the crank and had valves that were adjusted with a locknut......no shims/no buckets.   It had been on the floor for over 2 years and I paid 6700 for it new.
