salute to BECCI ELLIS

A more lengthy report for Becci and her crash.....

http://www.visordown.com/motorcycle-news--general-news/worlds-fastest-woman-crashes-in-record-speed-attempt/28056.html

I had a similar thing happen at Maxton
about 15 years ago at Maxton while running
for record on a turbo ZX9.

At something over 200 MPH, the air tried
to "lift me off the bike."  I was able to maintain
control only by "overusing" my abdominal muscles
while I decelerated safely down to a manageable speed.

The result was a one foot (12 inch) tear
in my abdominal wall, which I still have.

Later, I went 251mph on another bike.....

Let's hope for Becci that she returns as well,
and sets a 270 mph mark, as is her goal.

Many thank for your post regarding my crash on Saturday.
I am fine considering, only injuries are a broken ankle and battered and bruised ribs and neck.  I feel very lucky to have not injured myself more.
I don't recommend riding across the fields at Elvington as they are extremely bumpy and full of very large mole hills which is what stopped the bike eventually after keeping it upright for about 300 metres.  I just couldn't hold on any longer  :(
I went back to the track on Sunday to see everyone and let them know I was okay.  There was loads of lovely comments and hugs from so many people, I feel so honored to have so many people supporting me.
The team and I have spoken and decided to rebuild my bike and pick up where we left off as I want to continue trying to achieve my goal.  We only got the bike back to our workshop tonight so Mike will be stripping it down from tomorrow onwards.  Looks like engine and turbo has survived at first look but we wont know till we get it out of the broken frame.  We have unfortunately not found the Motec ECU box yet.  It's somewhere in the field but having had search parties over the weekend nothing has been found so we are trying to get some people with metal detectors to see if they can help to find it.
I will be back racing again as soon as I can.
Anyway thanks again
Becci XX
