Safety wires and battery strap?
« on: August 17, 2015, 07:01:41 PM »
Does anyone have pictures or a list of all safety wires and other safety straps required for lsr? I've noticed that a few events have more safety wire requirements than others and wanted to get everything taken care of at once.

I don't know of any consolidated lists of every organization's safety requirements.

I think Speed Week at Bonneville may be the most rigorous to meet -- but each organization seems to have their own twist on a particular item they focus on.

Best way is to get the rule books for each organization you are considering.  Even if someone made an all-inclusive list, there would be the challenge of keeping up with rule changes as well as how things are really going in tech.

of the courses I've been its

All 4 of your front axle pinch bolts.

Both your front axle nut and your axle from either side.

Your oil drain bolt

your oil fill which was not mandatory but recommended

as for the battery strap it depends on where your battery is but on my bikes I just put a bar across the seat frame and bolted it to the frame.

I hope this helps.
Maybe this year?
