Well..... I use the Graves rear tire warmer, single temp. When I checked just then on Amazon, it seems that it has been discontinued.  I ordered one back in March.   If you can find one, it's a lot cheaper than buying a set.

With all the crashes during shutdown in pavement LSR, it might not be a bad idea to have some heat in the front tire as well.

I was there during the inaugural event. Front tire warmers would apply more to the 250+ crowd with a short shutdown.

for me slowing down from 259 was no issue, stock 6 pots from 2000(same as gen 1 busa) (just upgraded to braided lines). i think some guys get carried away with too much air pressure in the front tire to help decrease rolling resistance. it decreases stopping resistance too!

Loring is without a doubt the premier track for the fast guys with its 12,100 long runway and an additional 1,000 feet of overrun at each end.

I agree that high tire pressure could certainly be a contributing factor in many of the crashes during shutdown. As mentioned earlier, a cold front tire offer limited traction and could also be a culprit. Add short stroke, stiff front suspension and a bumpy track to the mix and the result could be disastrous.

I would personally run tire warmers and use normal pressure in the front tire if I was fast and competed in events with a short shutdown.

IMHO I think that tire warmers are for guys that are running 250+. I always ran high front tire pressure and only a rear warmer. I always carefully initially applied the brakes and pound for speed was heavier than anyone else and never had problems stopping but only ran at Goliad, Tx (short) and Beeville, Tx.

You can buy rear warmers only from most manufacturers.
