2005 hayabusa 6" over, in need of a GOOD chain!

hello guys,
I am installing a swingarm on my 05 busa and I need a chain that I can count on. I had a chain that broke on me so any thoughts will be helpful.
I am on a tight budget so not sure what to expect here.
The one below is a decent price. is this good enough to run a modified motor on?

D.I.D. RK, EK, O or X ring (for street use) as long as it has over 10,000 pounds of tensile strength and comes with a rivet link.  They're easy enough to find.

One important note to state.  IMO, no matter what chain you go with, you must keep the sucker "properly" lubed or it WILL fail.  My Ultra Turbo Busa I sold Tommy Grimes was fitted with a Rivet Link D.I.D. that was very stout.  I kept it lubed.  Tommy did not.  One day, about a year after he bought the bike, he sent me an E-mail with pics of it sitting by the side of the road with a busted chain, a snapped off mainshaft and the cases were busted with a pile of oil leaking out.  He did not lube the chain.

It broke the mainshaft cause the chain wasnt lubed? That sucks!

The chain would be the weakest link,I can see and understand why it would snap,but breaking a HD output shaft as a result? How is that possible? The chain got wadded up inside the case saver and once the chain rolled up over the sprocket and couldnt bust through the billet case saver,the shaft snapped,proving it to be the weakest part of the equation? Damn.

We threw a chain at Loring a couple of years ago. The only damage was a broken clutch push rod. got locky

I'm guessing with Busa power that needs an extended arm you're going to have the same difficulties with a shaft

Best thing would be to go to a "logging chain" like the top fuel guys use.  Won't bust but it will sap about 10-15 HP from your final numbers, however, if you are up in the 375-400+ range, that wont matter much, now will it.

Haha! The OEM chain on my old '82 GS1100(like almost all the big-bore bikes in that day had)is a 630. It has to weigh 20lbs lol. Amazing how,back in the 70s/80s the OEM's used a monster 630 chain on the 80-100rwhp GS/CBX/KZ/GPz/etc and nowadays a quality 520 chain will handle 200rwhp&90ft/lbs

I will run whatever my builder recommends...........if he sez 530 X-Ring, rivet link, that is fine.  If he sez 630 X-Ring. rivet link, that is fine also.  Turbo will compensate.  Don't they always?

Ya do not hunt a grizzly with a .22 magnum.............ya use a .375 H&H magnum rifle with a S&W 500 mag as a back-up side arm.  Same shit with chains, run one for the worst/best traction day you will ever see that will stress that and try to stretch that sucker the mostest. Then go one step stronger....lube it.....ride it.  And repeat.  For a loooooooooong time.

No, the tensile strength is only 9,300.  Look for one with at least 10,000 pounds of tensile strength...like I already suggested.

I get the countershaft sprockets from Superior Sprockets in Oregon, rear sprockets from Vortex, and I cant remember who I get the chains from. If somebody is serious about doing a 520 conversion let me know and I will get part numbers and everything you need to do this. For those of you who dont know Brenda Sue made the fastest NA runs, on pavement, on my bike this year. Larry Forstall's Guppy made the fastest NA run ever, at Bonneville, wiwth a 520 chain.

They've come a long way with chain technology,some of the 520's now can handle about anything you can throw at them.I'm not ready for a new chain yet(have 8,000 miles on an EK ZVX2 and has only needed a bit of adjustment one time)but when you get time Fred I'd be interested in the chain manufacturer,part #'s,etc.

They say this chain is the best so let's get this 6 over arm on.
