What is needed to swap the gen 2 airbox to run on a gen 1 motor?

I tried to adapt a Gen 2 airbox to my nitrous Gen 1 and it doesn't work. The throttle bodies are spaced differently.  If you forced the velocity stack boots to fit, then they crimp up.  I suppose you could cut the box and make an adapter plate, but for what gains?

I remember measuring the gen2 airbox being smaller, but the clean side is bigger and air filter is positioned better.

The throttle body spacing is different, after you adapted it with an elbow or whatever you wouldnt be gaining anything,

Upon closer examination it appears to be more than just stacks.

You can get VS from John Hartley. They match the id of the throttle bodies, Different lengths are available or he will make whatever length you want. John is a great guy to do business with. He also has a Busa V8 if you want one.

Oh yeah, the fastest NA bike on pavement, 239+ and the fastest NA 1350  235+, use Gen1 airbox and Hartley velocity stacks. I thing the fastest NA bike, The Guppy 254+ uses Hartley velocity stacks in a Gen 1 airbox.

It can be done with big gains throughout the powerband depending on your setup and how airbox is done
