Since We Already Know.............
« on: January 18, 2016, 03:29:02 PM »
The 2016 Busa will be just like the 2015 'cept for paint, perhaps the Gen III's will come out in 2017.  Stock with a 1441 kit and fans programmed to come on earlier with a larger CCA lithium ion battery to ensure no starting issues and a larger cooling reservoir.  Then again, maybe not.

And, pray tell, why not?  Suzuki alredy knows a bunch of folks have upped their cc's on these bikes just as they know we are turbocharging them.

How about a small (like MC Xpress) kit as an option?  Or would that drive the price thru the roof?  It seems that 20K is the dividing line for most serious buyers.  A small turbo could be a viable option.  Call it the Suzuki Hayabusa 300X - for 300 RWHP.

Suzuki put all their attention on the completely redesigned  L7 GSXR-1K,so maybe 2018 will see a Gen3 Busa.

I doubt we will ever see the day when the Big Four all offer turbo bikes in their line-up's like we did in the mid 80's. That ship has sailed and sank lol. That being said, the '83 Suzuki XN-85 was one of my childhood dream bike's that I had plastered all over my walls. Had a chance to buy one about 10yrs ago for a steal, but bought the wife something instead :td:

A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do sometimes.   Wifey is not particularly enamored with the coin I am stuffing into Turbusa II.  But when all is done, she will get her rewards.  Bikes like these cost money, parts are not cheap.  Plus the labor of an expert builder.  He had three, yes three, completely assembled motors, all new, layin' on the floor last time I was there, all for his Pro-Street Bike.  That costs bread.

A 1441 would be the logical way to go. Kawasaki made a big jump with the zx14. But the 2 gen is almost perfect. Plus the mods are endless. Just sayin.

Just keep the hayabusa the same and throw in a $2000 visa gift card to add the mods we want. Lol

Ozbooster bought an XN-85 and A Honda turbo last trip here, and had already picked up 2 turbo Secas at a farm auction (REALLY) down there, and now has a pair of Kawi turbos as well.A XN gas tank showed up at my shop this week----

No, I will have to agree to disagree on the Visa, but the 1441 sounds very cheap and practical for the factory to produce.  Same cases. Gen 1 cylinder, 12.5 to one compression on 93 pump.  Better battery (lithium Ion)  fans to come on earlier, Larger cams. = All do-able, IMO.  Closer to 200 RWHP out of the box.

I was kidding about the $2000 visa gift card. One thing that the hayabusa has above all the "other" bikes is reliability!! I don't want the manufacturer to push the bike to it's limits from the box. The manufacturer has to make money. When they start making big changes they start cutting corners to save and make money. I want to be able to keep my bike for years to come. Prime example- the new 2015 R1. Look at the massive recall they just made with that bike. But, hey-it has all the bells and whistles right? The zx-14 is pushed to the limits from the manufacturer. How many people you know that have zx-14s with 40,000 and 50,000 miles? I realize it takes time to develop a machine to where it's almost perfect. Suzuki has done that. As technology progresses they should make minor changes here and their. If i want to mod the bike from their reliable platform then that's on me and me alone. Suzuki needs to stick to reliability. This is only my opinion. I already know people are going to disagree and some agree. But then again-that's the purpose of a forum.  Have a good one.

Sounds menacing and looks formidable.  Since the H2 already exists, it also carries a healthy/good possibility of becoming a reality - a supercharged ZX-14 would be a handful.

Stock is 58" I think.  I would stay at 63" with an option for 65".  SuzukiKawi are not without the technical prowess to build a better/stiffer shock and an adjustable swingarm.

I personally blew up a GPZ750 Turbo road racing it back in the day.
Good times my friend..good times.
Have a Harley, spent lots of money on it, thought I had a fast motorcycle, bought a Busa, realized all I had was a fast Harley, not a fast motorcycle!

Greg does the XN-85 have potential for more boost then what it was limited to from the factory?

And yeah, the GPZ-750 turbo was the best of the bunch HP wise. I remember one of the bike magazines in the mid 80's (think it was either Cycle or Cycle World) did a open class shootout that paired the fastest big bore bikes from each manufacturer such as the GS-1150,V-Max,GPZ-1100,FJ-1100,etc against each other and for shits and giggles Kawi brought a GPZ-750 turbo to throw in the mix. After all the bikes were compared the 750 turbo was quicker&faster then all but the GS-1150. A buddy of mine had the 750 turbo, bought brand new and after some fiddling and modding it was running mid 9s at 145mph+. This was hauling ass for a street bike in the late 80s.

That let's me out............................my "new" bike, even turboed and tuned, would never even get out of the upper 8's.  And that is with a lightweight good rider.
