Greg does the XN-85 have potential for more boost then what it was limited to from the factory?
And yeah, the GPZ-750 turbo was the best of the bunch HP wise. I remember one of the bike magazines in the mid 80's (think it was either Cycle or Cycle World) did a open class shootout that paired the fastest big bore bikes from each manufacturer such as the GS-1150,V-Max,GPZ-1100,FJ-1100,etc against each other and for shits and giggles Kawi brought a GPZ-750 turbo to throw in the mix. After all the bikes were compared the 750 turbo was quicker&faster then all but the GS-1150. A buddy of mine had the 750 turbo, bought brand new and after some fiddling and modding it was running mid 9s at 145mph+. This was hauling ass for a street bike in the late 80s.
Yep, any of them can produce more psi untill they get to the factory overboost protection, then bypass that , cut the brown wire on the 750 and i found a DIY circuit board to do the same with the XN, but plan on leaving them fairly standard, i have a bike with all the power i want on the street already
I will ride with you in the hi 8's GG , like blasting through the hills and long tours too much to make a quick bike out of my streeter , our specs are not that much different except i put less into my motor
