Do what I do if you cannot mount a sideways plate............bend it up off the tail mount so the numbers are almost parallel to the pavement............that might help in a "tight". I have only run from 'em one time on Turbusa 1 and I had the definate advantage cuz he was goin' the opposite direction when we passed and I was doin' 140+ and accelerating. He hit his brakes and then took that same exit I just came from but I never saw him again. Two exits down I took a right and ended up sitting between two church buses in back of the church for about an hour until the danger had passed. Lucky.
There is also the option of running a "dead" plate with up to date stickers on it if you can get your hands on one. I have seen that before but never did it.
Forgot to mention he was in a Crown Vic as this was 13 years ago...........that was before they went to the Dodge Chargers. Those old Crown Vics were only good for about 145 or so...............these new Chargers will easily break 165. Their "top speed", according to an aquaintence Deputy Sheriff of mine is "classified". Whatever that means. One that is fully equipped, with all the bells and whistles, costs the County/State over 120K a pop......not a cheap package by any means.
