How to reach vent hose on fuel tank?
« on: March 01, 2016, 08:31:53 PM »
I mean actually put a hand on it.  Tank raised I can see where it's connected to the vent tube but with the size of my hands I cannot get to it to clean it out.  I could probably pull it off the tube but wouldn't be able to replace it.  Certainly the tank doesn't have to be off to get to it does it?  Is there some other way or do I hire some kid with tiny hands to do it?

I have never heard a gas cap whistle. Now I know how to trouble shoot it.

When I open the cap the whistle stops.  The gasket looked fine but I cleaned it anyway as it had an off color 'coating' of some kind on it, probably a combination of whatever contaminants are in the fuel.  I suppose they could build up inside the narrow hose but I did notice a bend in the hose that may kink and not allow the fumes to pass thru.  Have to figure a way to replace the hose with a new stiff one maybe.
