One more,
12 years ago i ran my perfectly stock -00 busa to the max on a highway, speedo was showing 211mph,
how could this be possible, was i moto-gp class rider, was it a world record ?
No, my skills are below average as a rider, and i`m much bigger than the Turkish H2R rider. The bike with stock gearing and worn rear tyre had a 10% error in speedo reading and i was running a long downhill. It felt nice though. True max speed on flat ground would`ve been 180-185mph, on a good day.

great point Speedduck, it would be interesting to know what diameter size the rear tyre was, from this we could soon figger "true" speed, not indicated

The best way to get "true speed" is to use GPS..................

Interesting on #5,  I would think it would be more.   Did you do any testing OEM fairings vs.  big aero or aftermarket that closely resembled OEM?

On my bikes I'm only running OEM, I considered big aero fairings but after several high speed crashes with them and the effect side winds have on them I'll stick with OEM.

Some of the findings were:

5) Removing the standard fairing cost
14 mph (average) in top speed.

we did 20 runs WITH the fairing, and
20 without, and 14mph was the average.[/b][/size]

AMA and FIM BMST registration is about 800-900.  On average you can expect 4-6 runs a day maybe more towards the end of the meet.  At a Mike Cook event you would likely get all the runs you wanted.

I think 3 Bikes without looking it up (i'm not going through that rule book untill i absolutely have to)
2013 is not a fair comparison , but your right its a dedicated few , and expensive , my insurance alone is over $1000  AU and unlike entry fees not a chance at a refund if cancelled

Last time I inquired, my fees for a couple of bikes to run at
Cook's FIM meet would have been about $10,000 for the entry.

BMST is a no-go for us, since we would get so few runs.

Yep Cooks is pretty much unlimited runs, but its the quality not the quantity you pay for
The pit is at the 0 mile
there is constant monitering of conditions
you can run whenever you think conditions are right for you , no waiting in line and taking the conditions when you get to the front
The Cooks and everyone else involved in the running of the event are there for you and the few others at the event
there is total lockdown during a run, no vehicle is allowed to move apart from its crew and the emergency vehicles , everyone else must be in pits, designated safety or viewing areas
After crewing for Richard Assen in 2011 and seeing how it worked i figured if you wanted everything possible in your favor to go fast it was at this event

True!   It is the premier event.  AMA, FIM and FIA

Scott,
I don't know if you were at the Maxton event back in '06 when we brought a brand new ZX14 with 21 true miles on the odometer. We installed a ZX12R front sprocket (18t) to fool the limiter and Chad's best pass was a 196.11.......still had the break in oil, really!

The bike was 100% bone stock except for the countershaft sprocket.

(And past and current congratulations
to ALL the family for all you do and

My comments were for the 1,300cc bikes
