3rd gen hayabusa

What do we really want from the 3rd Gen hayabusa?? What does suzuki have to do to make us have that "Awe" feeling when the 1gen came out or the 2nd gen came out??

IMO because of the Euro 4 rules people will sit on their hands until the 2017/2018 models.
There will be some significant changes that are required and it doesn't make sense to do a total redesign until then.
Once again my opinion and your results will vary.
Have a Harley, spent lots of money on it, thought I had a fast motorcycle, bought a Busa, realized all I had was a fast Harley, not a fast motorcycle!

With Kawasaki already throwing down the hammer with the H 2 ~ Suzuki will most likely strike back with some type of blower bike .  .  .

The Busa is almost near perfect. I know the Kawi has a little bit more power but a lot of people I talk too say it's not as reliable as the busa.  A buddy of mine who has a 1507 gen 1 busa said they need to put the gen 1 block on the gen 2 busa and Mabey take it from their.  The next busa needs to put out at least 215hp from the factory. The new 1000cc bikes are putting out 200bhp out the gate.

215 is a lot at the rear wheel for a stocker...............they average about 170ish now.  That is close to 50 more than current.  A challenge for Suzuki.

I think the new Busa needs to be up around 225 bhp and normally aspirated for now.
A 1400 or 1500cc wouldnt go amiss.
It needs to be lighter and thats not going to be easy without compromising the Busa's superb stability.
I have no more sh*ts to give.

Why not? Yamaha made a huge jump from 1200cc to 1700cc for the VMax, Suzuki can do the same. The bike will end up costing 20k but that is ok as eventually all bike prices are heading that way anyway.

Not so sure that STAR aka Yamaha is moving very many V-Max muscle bikes though .  .  .

Yea but the Busa is not just a muscle bike. It can do a heck of lot more now as well in the future.

I think the next busa will elevate the game so to speak. With the technology that's available today I'm quite sure they can build a 215hp bike straight from the factory. The 08 revision is still a very strong and reliable piece of work. Even if they take it to the Kawi 1441 level I think people will be happy with that. We don't need more color changes, we want more power. And we will pay for it.

It has been said that the power you do NOT use (even though you have it) can make the power you DO use that much sweeter.   Like a turbo with 350 on pump running/using a boost level of only 275, which is still over 100 more than stock.

350hp on pump!!  Geez!! I couldn't imagine twisting the throttle back on that. I watch Jeremy teasley on his turbo busa doing 220mph in the 1/4". I think he ran a 6.5et if I remember. It's amazing what kind of power the busa can make. That's what amazing about the busa. It's the potential it has. My bike is stock besides a slip on and K&n filter. That's enough for me. "For now"!  Lol

The Kawi H2 is a really strong bike. Their is a you tuber named 650ib in OH that let Brock do some work to his bike. The dyno they use now is a little bit different than what they use to use. His bike made 257hp at the wheel. Brock said on his old dyno he would have made 270ish. It was very humid at the time. That's a big factor as well. That bike is really fast. It's a cool video to watch.

1400cc Turbo with 210 hp/125 torque  restriction to10k, fix it to when the power is unrestricted 300 hp/200 torque(12000 rpm). And adjustable wheel base 58-60 inches. :tu:

Jagaur have just announced they are dropping their own supercharged V8 and going to use BMW twin turbo V8 engines.
All about the development costs of higher horse power supercharged engines when the turbo engines are already tried and tested.

Perhaps this is Suzuki's logic?

It's going to need forced induction and easy bolt-on potential if it wants to surpass the H2 and not just be another over HYPE'd bike IMO.  I think most in the streetbike world see the H2 as the baseline now when keeping things relatively stock.  When you are going UNLIMITED I think the Busa is still KING but most people want something different.  Even in the car world guys are buying stuff completely different than what they prefer and own just to try something new.  I think a lot of that is happening in the bike world as well, not to mention the technology is so much better on the latest crop of liter bikes R1, ZX10, S1000RR, H2, etc.  SUZUKI better come with something STRONG in both the liter bike and hyper bike class if they want to stay in business.

I would like to see 200 rear wheel HP and 110 lbs, H.I.D lights optional heated grips. They have taken too long and I have spent my money on another brand. I still have my Gen 1 busa. Although she looks good, she is showing her age.

If I can have my way,I will never sell her. Gen 1 and Gen 3 side by side. Money doesn't grow on trees although it is made of them.

Along the lines on something new, I think Suzuki will come out with a new name or use the regular designation of GSX InsertCCSizeHere R and drop Hayabusa as it has been over used for the last 17 years IMHO.

I say go with a 1476cc set up. The hayabusa set the bar back in 1999. Yeah I know their are a lot of faster bikes that come stock stronger than the 08 busas redesign. But I think the busa is best for modding. Look at what always going down the drag strip. Don't get me wrong the Kawi, zx10, zx14, h2 and bmw1000rr hold their own. But I really think it comes down to rider. #Ridermod

Until you meet that one 90lb weakling riding one of those litre bikes.........rare I know.....but no matter how much mad skill you have.....it doesn't help quite enough...  :hys:
