Six seconds
« on: September 18, 2016, 07:13:28 AM »
Finally into the 6's on a prostreet legal bike. This is a bike that we built at Williford Racing using many parts I made. Jordan Haase rides it. Tuned it with bigger Injectors on wednesday, tested it at Piedmont Dragway on Thursday and went 6.92 off the trailer on Saturday.

I guess I need to find another goal now.

Jordan makes the 5th Six second rider on the Prostreet GOAT List from Williford Racing...

Got my bike up to 212mph at the last event in GA.

Of 8 remaining bikes in the DME All Star Shootout race, half were Williford Racing bikes, with Ehren Litten and Rodney making it to the final. Ehren took the win after Rodney spun. Rodney still busted out a 219 mph pass though.

Ehren went 6.769@221mph during qualifying, weighing in at 205lb rider wt.

Mark Garguilo went 6.88@211...not bad for a dude over 50.

Rodney qualified #1 for the shootout race AND the main Man Cup event....then dropped the mic and flew to France on Sunday morning due to work travel (damn dayjobs...)

Overall we were pretty happy with the week of racing.

John

Not sure. There is video of the final, Rodney Williford 7.2x@219 and Ehren Litten 6.8x @218. I'll see if the re is any if the qualifier where Ehren went the .76

Rodney went a little quicker with a 6.760 that week as well.

Q2, Ehren first pair left lane with the 6.76 after inadvertently bumping the kill switch at first and restarting.

My bike with Jordan riding is also there in the left lane later for a 6.95 breaking up due to an ignition trigger issue.

Not a whole lot (well, depends on what you compare it to I guess).

The best ET on my bike (6.908) was with 27.5psi. The fastest pass on my bike was with (212mph) about 31 psi. The 221 mph bikes have a bit more than that, but still nothing compared to what the import car guys run.

These are all with stock GEN1 bore and stroke as well...just under 80 cubic inches :bike:

Back a few years ago, I would have thought more as well. When I first started messing with turbo busas, probably 2001 or so, we would run alot of boost and never ever broke into the 7's. I've learned alot since then and continue to learn more all the time. It amazes me that we were able to make 2 bikes run 6.76@221mph with stock gen1 bore and stroke at the same event. 211, 212, 221, 221 for best speeds from our 4 bikes. Crazy.

Congratulations  man that's great to hear. Those are some crazy times and serious  mph! I would have figured way more boost than that also and thanks for all the info you post. Most wouldn't and I can understand  it's a lot of work, time, and money involved to get a good setup.
Thank you for all the help on this board you guys definitely  have it figured out, I'm glad to see someone  besides  DME  run crazy numbers.

We have to run DOT tires. There aren't any wide dot tires suitable for drag racing. A 240 width Continental was tried a few years ago, but it didn't work very well.

Depends on what you mean by how many. While we do grenade one once in awhile, we pull them at least every other race, sometimes after each race, and freshen the bottom ends.

Wow that seems like a lot I guess all that boost is hard on them. Probably  isn't a bad idea just to keep things fresh so nothing unforseen happens, still can break but I guess that's the nature of the beast. You guys aren't  setting records though by being easy on equipment  lol.

Made some more progress with the Prostreet bike. New personal best of 6.76 and new best speeds of 175mph to the 1/8 and 215mph out the back. We had quite a few mid to low 6.8 second passes as well with the only passes that weren't in the 80's or better were because of an issue where Jordan decided to lift the throttle early during a qualifier as the bike drifted a bit farther to the right then he was comfortable with and a back and forth battle during an elimination run against Richard Gadson. Made it to the finals to race against Rodney and actually gave him a good race, in front until the 1/8, with his power pulling him through to a 226mph  :jaw: trap speed and the win.

Yeah...and it was messed up from the start and snapped a rod at about the 1000ft mark. I do work on some parts of Rodney bike (mostly just the cylinder heads). It is still pretty cool to be able to say I've built and tuned a bikewith an otherwise unproven ecu that was in a final round against him and gave him a run for it lol.
