LARRY “SPIDERMAN” McBRIDE MOVES UP,
with a 258.27 mph run at the ManCup dragrace
yesterday(Saturday) in Valdosta, Ga. USA.

Running his Top Fuel motorcycle through the
¼ mile timing traps, Mr. McBride has potentially
(pending backup) set BOTH ends of the motorcycle
¼ mile national record with a speed of 258.27 mph,
and an elapsed time of 5.677 seconds.

Racing finals will be run today (Sunday).

Valerie Thompson, the world's fastest Woman motorcycle rider
@ 300+ mph has upped her "best speed" to a reported 343mph.

If authenticated, the 343mph would move Valerie
from 9th place up to 4th place on this list.

Unfortunately, she crashed her #7 BUB streamliner in the attempt.

She walked away, and may have broken no bones.

As you can see in the slo-mo portion,
the liner was bent badly in several directions,
and took a direct impact to the top of the roll cage.

Good practice would require a complete strip of the body/chassis
and examination for cracks.  There is probably a lot of concealed
damage inside, due to the bending. 

Tubes, hoses and drive-line parts may be UN-repairable............

This bike has several times been the fastest bike in the world,
 and it would be a great disappointment if it is a write-off......................

as usural your observations are spot on Scott,, I along with Evelyne Sholtz were designated spotters at the 6,, we both heard a destinctive "Thud", as witnessed in the clip that thing hit hard

RALPH HUDSON, riding his self-modified
1000cc Suzuki at 12,000 feet altitude in Bolivia Hits 308 mph.

Ralph's down run of 308 mph averaged with his 304mph return run,
aboard his sit-on turbocharged liter bike becomes
Land Speed Racing's first salt record over 300mph.

Hudson is also the Bolivian National Speed Record holder.

Meanwhile, in England at the straight-liners / Elvington race meeting,
Phil Wood hit 258.54 mph on a turbo 1,547cc Hayabusa billed
as stock bodywork, street legal, and
having shown about 1000cc on the dyno

A few minutes ago, John Levie drove the
Guthrie / Levie sidecar bike to a speed of
over 318mph.

We believe this is the fastest
sidecar bike in history.
