My Hayabusa just switches off for now reason
« on: February 28, 2017, 09:21:45 PM »
Hi Guy, my hayabusa would just switch off whilst I'm riding it for no apparent reason. No warning lights or overheating. But if I wait for a few minutes and it would start again. This keeps happening and I'm not sure what could be the problem. Does anyone have any ideas?

The solution requires some basic troubleshooting. Since the bike runs the problem isn't mechanical. It is either electrical or a fuel delivery issue and the first step would be to determine which. Electrical problem/s would show as no spark at the plugs when it is not able to run. Fuel check would normally start with a fuel pressure gauge attached to the fuel rail to see if pressure drops when the motor dies. This requires the tools and knowledge to back track from the failed end point until the cause is apparent. Before digging deeper you may want to make sure it isn't just a fuel line being pinched when the tank is lowered.

agree with Gary. Would check fuel pump first.

My guess would be the kick stand switch...Check your kick stand to make sure it's not loose, if loose tighten and your problem should be solved...

A question I have is when its dies, you said after a few mins it will start and run ok, what happens if you try to start it right away after it quits??? also how often does it do this, all the time  or every few days, has it recently sat for a long period of time??? as Gary said this will need some trouble shooting, fuel would be my first guess, ether a plugged screen (filter) or bad pump,
