Uk news.
« on: August 18, 2017, 03:17:12 PM »
This weekend is the annual Wheelie and Top speed weekend at Elvington which we have been looking forward to but before it started, last night to be exact Jack Frost had his van stolen from his hotel car park containing three turbo bikes, his tools and other bits of kit helmets plus some other stuff and it was found today burnt out including most of the contents by the look of it.

The bikes are a big part of Uk speed racing history and cant be replaced because of many unique parts and it really saddens me to report this senseless crime.

That's very sad news Ken. We can only guess at the reason why this happened and no one will probably ever know.
What are the chances of the police nailing anyone for this?
Jack has been around for many years on the scene and a huge source of inspiration to many people.
Is there going to be a crowd funding page?
I have no more sh*ts to give.

Gary Rothwell the fastest man in the world on one wheel has started a funding page as it looks like the bikes are not insured in transit.

Thank you very much Ken, word will spread and I will share that link around the net.
I'm sure some of the motorcycling media will pick up on this and help out.
Very sorry for Jack and his crew.

Good idea. Please start a thread with the purpose in the title and we'll all help get this done.
Closed course. Professional rider. Do not attempt.

Still privately owned and operated by Hayabusa owner enthusiasts. 2002, small  a/a kit, CF body

If it's in a truck or trailer, it's being stolen

Thanks ADMIN.

Ken 12r could you post a thread in Bike Talk with an appropriate title about fundraising for Jack?
I assume Bike Talk is the best place, unless anyone thinks any different?
I've been sharing it around my bike mates in England and word will spread.

Sunday started with a fair tailwind maybe 15/18 mph gusting slightly Becci ran a 245 mph but generally most people seemed slower than Saturday looking at the numbers.
Overall Becci was fastest with a 245.181 on Saturday and a 245.921 on Sunday.
Jay Coddington 241.223 on a Gsxr1000 turbo
Elliot Jones on a Big CC GSXR1000 turbo 240.447 on Saturday
Dazz Rose on Bob the turbo busa 220.528
James Devlin Busa Turbo 219.888
Kryssie on Bob the turbo busa 211.391
Martin Stanton gsxr 1000 turbo 210.226
Dave Taylor turbo busa 203.254
Tom Armitage turbo busa  204.934
Alan Halman  busa 203.247.
Sean Mills Turbo busa 202.222
The stockish production bikes were led by Racy Tracy ZZR1400 195.055
There was a break around lunchtime to repair the timing lights someone skittled (twice in a weekend that must be a record) and the Wheelie rider Dave Corrance had an off in the braking area landing a 160 ish wheelie and was taken to hospital but he returned before the presentation with just a few scuffs.

There were lots of wheelie personal bests topped by a new record from Ted Brady turbo busa 217.950 and he was very close with a 222.036 that figures in the top speed results too.
Richard Roche also on a turbo busa 220.563 on two wheels 212.164 on one wheel.
Baz Brittain gsxr turbo 206.478 on two wheels 168.599 on one wheel.

Saw Jack on Sunday he is gutted as any of us would be and it looks like only the van itself will be covered by insurance but the needs to look further into this when he gets home.

Just a brief update about the tragedy suffered by Jack Frost the UK racing legend last week.
He had arrived early to attend a wedding of two of our racing friends and parked his van up for the night in front of the hotel CCTV cameras which it turns out were not working, during the night the van was stolen then found the next morning burnt out with most of the contents.
Many of the unique race parts on the bikes are irreplaceable like the Ex Troy Bayliss world superbike brakes and multiple syvecs ecus in the glovebox umpteen one off billet parts spares and all the kit we rely on to race totalling in excess of $200,000 and thats just the stuff he remembers at the moment but he is still in shock over it all.
It seemed the right thing to do as the bikes and kit are not insured it seems for a collection to be started so another UK biking legend Gary Rothwell has started a go fund me page at https://www.gofundme.com/holeshotracing
Jack did not ask for this page and is even a little embarrassed by it but we feel he deserves something to soften the blow he has taken from some worthless scum.
He is not a rich man he works for himself in his tuning business in Ireland and lives near to it in a Bungalow and this kit took 18 years of his life to build up.
