Just Got Back in the Saddle
« on: September 09, 2017, 07:37:49 AM »
I just got back in the saddle 2 days ago with a 2012 after I gave up my K8 a few seasons ago . It had 2143 miles on it. Bone stock for the moment but the ECU is flashed.

I noticed it doesn't seem to want to start after I have ridden it (hot) almost like the battery is dead or dying. Even cold it doesn't want to fire up like I'm used to. I noticed a lot of posts online about this. I know it has sat for a while obviously looking at the miles.

Some say starter, some say battery. I also saw last night it has the recall on it for the rectifier. Could it be the recall part causing this?

Could be either the battery or the rectifier. I had a battery go bad and it acted just like what you described.  Put a charger on the battery and see if it stops doing it. I replaced the battery in my bking after I swapped out the rectifier.

Awesome thanks!

Stealership is doing the recall part so I will see if that corrects anything. Hell I may just put a new battery in regardless.
