All that I’ve heard is that it doesn’t look good. Say a prayer for him.

The second rider came off of his Harley Destroyer and was airlifted out, as was the first rider who didn't see the mile marker and went off the end of the track.

We have so many riders in the Texas and Houston
area that we should be able to investigate
these accidents and report back.

If we can't take care of each other,
who else will do it ?

The article I just looked up online said 2 bikers crashed and both are recovering and expected to be OK. The article was from the end of March, so they are likely well on the mend as of today.

LSR King:

I am glad that Phillip is improving,
 and is out of danger.

Can you tell us his LAST name ?

Can you tell us anything about the crash,
like speeds, where on the track,
if he hit anything, etc ?

This might save others..........

His Name is  Philip Steward

This is the what happen:
Emergency personnel at the end of the track that witness the accident said he passed the mile marker but stayed on the throttle for a little further then he should have then couldn't get the bike to stop in time before going into the grass at the end of the runway and loosing it in the grass.

His speed at the mile marker was 197 mile by the time he went to the grass I think 220+ mile.
Datalogger shows that he stay on the throttle all the way to the 6 gears  till the kill switch came off.

Thanks
Hussain.

Thanks Hussain,
This is really a BIG help !

If you ran from south east to north west on the long runway,
the total length of the PAVED track was 9,200 feet.

If I understand your words,
that means Phillip ran 5,280 feet
(1 mile) and reached 197 mph.

He then kept the throttle open an ADDITIONAL 3920 feet
( about another 3/4 mile) before he entered
the grassy area at the end of the track.

That would account for the increase
from 197mph to 220 mph.

The grassy area is about 1,700 feet long.

Does this sound correct ?

Thank you Hussain !

Your information will be carefully considered
by a committee of the most respected people in the sport.

The committee is specifically trying to find
the causes of these accidents, and work with
the tracks and promoters to save the
lives of our friends and co-riders.

While we are at it:

The committee is aware of complaints on this website
from folks that the investigations of
these crashes are not being published.

Maybe is now is the time for those
complaining to step up and help !

Find our the name of the Harley rider
injured at the Texas mile, and inform all
of us other riders, so we can continue
searching for the solutions.

Don't just complain - do something !

Interesting:

I reached out to the Writer who
crafted the newspaper article
about the crash, and included
the still photographs.

She said that the Texas Mile
will not release the name.....

Tough duty when they won't
give names to the paper !
