1441 build  would .039 measured squish (average of 2 pieces of solder)7 be to  tight?

Are you referring to plastigauge ? Like main bearing gap ?. Please be more specific . If it is, neither rods, nor mains should have a .039" "squish.". Try .0010-.0020 on mains, and .0020-.0025 on rods. That's the range I used.  I was told not to use plastigauge.  Measure everything with a micrometer, and bore gauge until you get the gap you're looking for. Good luck !.
