Unless Al Lamb posted wrong, he had an entry speed of 308 with an avg of 304, his return  was 291, so his avg was 298. Also the 308 was a tailwind and 0 wind at 291. So im not sure whats what, but hes in line to make another. If he had a record  over 300 i think he would be finished.  Good luck Ralph!!

I think you are correct Steve.........I posted
before Al Lamb posted, and I didn't completely understand
the circumstances in Bolivia when the runs were reported..................

In any case, my interest - as with most of us - is in the
maximum speed, not the 2-way record..................

Ralph's 308mph compares very well with Bill Warner's 311 mph.

Im more interested  in the record not the max speed. Also you cant compare the two, running on pavement and going almost 300 in  standing stop is much harder IMO. Bill has to do it within  5300 ft. Then slam on the brakes.  Those guys have 7 miles of run up, the best air and salt  available, that everyone can't  go to. They make it look easy too !!  They learned what to do to the  turbos from last yr and they go fast on the first or 2nd pass. Im not taking anything away from what there doing. As long as you got the ballz,  you could hop on those bikes and go fast, you just have to be brave enough. Good luck to Ralph on getting the 300mph record he's  after,  not just bragging rights of an entry or exit speed. They dont race for those numbers.!!!

Scott how far apart are the timing lights on entry and exit speed timing? Your  streamliner had a nice exit before correct?

I also heard Ralphs rear wheel hit 318 !!! Now thats rolling!!!

The chase to a RECORD of 300 will go on for atleast another year. Ralph's  best record was 297ish, then he hurt the motor and was running short on tires. Congrats to Ralph, thats one brave individual!!

Way to go Ralph!!!!!!
Have a Harley, spent lots of money on it, thought I had a fast motorcycle, bought a Busa, realized all I had was a fast Harley, not a fast motorcycle!

All the congratulations I can muster to Ralph Hudson and his team. The first flying mile over 300 on a sit-on bike. Perhaps bittersweet that he got so close to the "big number" average, but hopefully he will get another chance.

Still on the way home from the event ,but it wasn’t as easy as you may think
Track was quite damp, constant wind changes
Ralph was fighting it to stay on track
One run hit a cone and another hit the mile marker ( the 291 )
I think the track in this state was not much better than a good Bonneville  , only the air pressure advantage
Definitely much less than the perfect conditions of last year
Picking up the pieces of the mile marker let me see Ralph’s track and it was a groove cut in the salt
Some great riding in difficult conditions , so happy I went to see it happen
