Looking for help on a gen 1 stock internals
« on: February 13, 2019, 08:04:47 PM »
I have a stock motor gen1, I would like to attempt to pick up some power. I recently bought a second intake cam for it. I've been told to put a thinner head gasket in it to bump up the compression a touch. I was planning on slightly porting the head, mostly remove casting marks and clean it up a bit. I also have a performance first cycle dry spray bar in it with a lazy 40 shot, bad tune, tuned through ecu editor. I plan on having it dyno tuned. I drag race it one weekend a month and street ride it weekly.

Not really sure what I should run for cam timing?
Is a .018" gasket ok?
I also have a set of 47 lb valve springs I thought I would put in it.
What are guys spraying in a stock gen1, 50hp-60hp? opening up ring gaps?

Any advice would be appreciated.
