New member here with some busa issues
« on: May 27, 2019, 04:06:58 PM »
Hey guys and girls!

Im a new member here from Florida.. Looking forward to browsing ..

Ive been having some issues with my busa lately so was hoping to get some answers on this forum..
Love my busa but jeez its a money pit. :( Ive spent around 2k in past 2 months just in repairs...and still having issues.

I had a clicking sound coming from the back wheel. Thought it was bearings.. purchased new ones and had suzuki replace them ...when a week later the sound came back even stronger. Anyone knows what could this be?! Im attaching the link of the problem

Jack shaft rubbing ?....bearing shot maybe. Sounds like it's resonating through the swingarm. Not the rear wheel, or the trans.

Are you sure the chain isn't rubbing on the guard?

That's kinda what I was thinking. Put the bike on a rear stand, gear neutral, and spin wheel by hand. See where your ears lead you.

does it do it moving forward?
My rear rotor makes a weird noise while rolling the bike backwards,   nothing forwards     thinking it is loose pads with a slotted rotor on mine

Does your current set up to use the stock cush drive? Does it clunk at all when you first tart moving?

I will throw in a guess,
the swingarm sides are not sraight and when tightened it squeezes only one side of the bearing inner race and it twists, this happened in my friends bike.
It can be checked by loosening the rear axle nut a little, if the sound changes it can be it.
It does not help replacing the bearings,

Is the chain alignment correct? You can put the bike on a stand and roll the rear tire, then observe where the sprocket teeth are riding between the 2 sides of the chain. No idea how to align if itís off, but itís worth a check. I did a custom bike with a swing arm I modded to fit. As I test fitted/machined and adjusted the firmest I would spin the rear wheel to test the chain alignment and it would make clicking noise like youíre describing until I got it properly aligned.

Also if no one's mentioned it check for tight spots in the chain

Ok so for an update. The clicking is gone. I had all bearings replaced in the back wheel so I guess that fixed the issue. I havent rode it yet bc its been raining since I got back. Hope to get on it this weekend.
Thanks for all the input.. I appreciate it.
I did  install the air suspension- Arnott. Heres a video.. Love it so far!
