Harvest Event Info

Hello Racers!

Speed Week at Bonneville starts Saturday and we hope everyone has a Safe, Fun, and Fast Event.

The 2020 Maine Event is still a go so we wanted to reach out to go over Covid.  There is a lot of misinformation out there so we have gathered this and distilled it from the state. We also have a medical advisor that has been spearheading Covid policy for Maine’s largest employer and she is constantly up to date on best practice.

If you are traveling from another state or many states away, there are NO roadblocks anywhere and states are NOT requiring testing or quarantine to travel through. You are free to hit the open road.
Maine has a mask rule. If you are within 6 feet of others, inside or out, you are required to wear a mask.
Our rulebook has hundreds of rules designed to keep all of you safe and we would like to thank all of you for faithfully  following them for over a decade. This year we have one new rule that is not in the book.
We require all participants, crews, and families to wear a mask/shield/face covering/helmet when you leave your personal pit stall. In your stall, we will not require masks.  Like all of our other rules, this is not open to debate.

The pits will look different this year. Please be sure to check with Registration before you start unloading. Due to state crowd size rules, we will have to segregate the pits into zones.
Please check with your hotel to be sure what their procedures are.
There will be NO spectators at the event. You can bring people with you, we treat them as crew.

Please go to the section that pertains to you for more information.

MAINE – NEW HAMPSHIRE – VERMONT – NEW YORK – CONNECTICUT – NEW JERSEY

There is no testing or quarantine requirement at this time.  You may come and go as you please anywhere in the state.

ALL OTHER STATES

I want to start by making this very clear.  OUR EVENT IS IN FULL COMPLIANCE WITH THE STATE’S QUARANTINE RULES. This means that you can be in quarantine at the event.

Now the details:

Maine requires all people entering the state to do 1 of 3 things.
Self-quarantine for 14 days Which you can do at the event.
Have a negative test within 3 days of entering the state to move about freely. (but you can choose option 1 instead)
Take a test within 3 days of entering Maine and quarantine until the negative result is returned. Then you can move about freely. (Or choose option 1)

The State’s self-quarantine rules are pretty thin -
You may be outside
You can stay in a Hotel
You can bring a camper
You are asked to wear a mask around others
You are asked to not go shopping in stores and not to frequent restaurants.
That’s it.

Accommodations and food:

Hotels are now taking reservations. Please be sure to check with them as to any special rules they have in place.
The bunker Inn is located on the base. It was opened a couple of years ago. They are happy to house our racers. 207.325.6072
Many restaurants have take out and the Caribou inn will deliver to your room.  We will get a list together and post it at Registration.
We will have the Young Marines as our vendor for lunches as well.

Take care, be well, and lets race!

Joe, Tim and the gang.
