I ran out idea - my 1 and 4 cylinders are not firing
« on: June 23, 2024, 06:07:16 PM »
My 1 & 4 cylinders are not firing - I tried my best but I'm in the end of the rope.
If you have an idea what I missed, kindly help me.

I don't know what else to do. Here are the things I did.

1. I tested the 4 injectors and cleaned (it's within the spec)
2. I tested my TPS with multimeter - OHMS (1.3 to 4.5) AND VOLTAGE (1.3 to 4.5) GIVEN in close position and wot position (within spec)
3. I replaced my stator and new crank sensor.
4. I replaced my rectifier (new)
5. Four brand new NGK
6. I have swapped crankshaft sensor (I have spare)
7. I swapped coils and sparkplugs and the problem stayed at 1 and 4 cylinders still not firing.
8. Fuel new 93 octane.
9. I have a error code C-14 but I tested it the resistance and voltage - they are good.
10. I took the compressions on all 4 cylinders -- consistent 160-170 approx.

11. WHAT ELSE I NEED TO DO?  If you have other ideas pls. help ---THANK YOU.

Try swapping the ecu. Does it have a 2 step by chance?

I don't have spare but I have no choice except to buy a used one.

I think it's good to have one for troubleshooting

Check the ground connection under the tank near the flat spot of the wiring harness.   ( you need to cut it open)

Yes, I also put extra ground and it didn't matter.

However, I bought a new 2007 ECU - the engine runs but on idle only, I can't rev it. It dies.
I put it in the dealer's mode and check for CELL error. There is no error showing except -C00

I turned the ignition off and turn it on again (without starting the engine).
I checked the TPS, I wide open throttle and saw the dash C00 went up and when I let go the accelerator it goes back in the middle.
BUT, THIS TIME I GOT C-14
So, what do I need to do?

Is there a diagnostic tools I can buy for Gen 1?

So with the swapped ecu it runs on all 4, but not above idle? Is your bike a 2007?

So with the swapped ecu it runs on all 4, but not above idle? Is your bike a 2007?

The engine is installed in a golf Kart project. The engine is 2006, the wiring (I don't remember) ECU now is 2007.
Tip over switch, stand switch, and all the thing that need resistors to run the engine was taking care of.
Fuel pump is 225 AEM in tank, injectors are stock and calibrated and tested, fuel pressure 43psi.

Yes, the new ecu made the difference, it runs. I idled the engine for 1/2 hr but having a hiccup when I opened up.
I checked the TPS voltage. In the rest position, it's .5 volts and wide open 5.05 volts. I think the book says 1.3V and 4.3v.
I'm still getting C-14 after the test.
I think my TPS is within the spec? Or I need to adjust? to 1.3v to 4.3V?

I finally found my problem.
Two of my injectors are intermittent, sometimes it works sometimes not.
I bought a new injectors and he behaves well.

Thank you for this site and the people that helps me.
I appreciate it very much.
