why the hell did I wait so long?
Putting engine back in goes so much easier

Lower bike lift so I can wheel the feet to the stand under my lift
then just lifted the bike stand till it unweighted motor
and just slid engine stand out

Hey Kent, not sure if you'd heard but I now own Morris's turbo Busa. I retired and moved from Maui to Bossier City Louisiana to be near my daughter and her family. I still have the 14r for drag racing though sadly almost every track around here runs 1/8th even on a 1/4 mile track?? I'm in the process of going through the whole bike and removing a bunch of stuff that had been hacked by a few others. I'll be street riding it with the intention of trips to the Arkansas and Texas mile LSR event plus a few drag strips. I had a DME arm built that'll get me to 70" for the drags and 64.5 on the short end for the street and LSR. Going to need to bend your ear for some do's and don'ts on clutch etc. Give me a call or shot me an email when you can. If you don't have my info still you can get it from Tom P. or Keally rimes with wheelie...

I do know these things. Sorry I have not replied, Not a big "phone fan"
But I think I am the wrong person for a lot of questions
for instance you mentioned Loring gearing,
I do it wrong, I throw 20x40 or 20x38 on the bike cause I don't want to change it up there. I did 3-4 runs all 219-223 all near the top of fifth (one run I tagged the limiter and went 222.
Jim is the guy that has data on his thoretical calculated VS logged info tire slip numbers

Tires I get the "best tires that are available, that are NOT track day tires
I don't worry about the Rolling diameter and all that causse I SHOULD NOT run out of gear till I get more boost tuned
I have a issue with the running of the bike that started in the Hot box at Loring 2013 and I still can;t figure out the running issue

Clutch
You guys ALL have better clutch hands then me

I run a single stage lock at Loring and on the street for holding power
then you saw my only DRAG runs with the MTC gen 2 clutch
When I first got the Gen2 lockup I thought I threw enough static in it to get away with running it at Loring
Had a air shifter issue so I switched my boost controller to time based, and couldn't punch WOT cause the ramp rate was too fast I ended up cooking the clutch in three runs

Thanks for the reply Kent. Do you have a recommendation for a stage 1 lockup? The bike has a Brock's kit in it with 4 purple springs and 2 green springs and is a bear on lever pressure. I've put a new pack in with the 4 purple and 2 new stock springs which has made it tolerable on the lift though I haven't ridden it yet. I'd like to be able to reduce the static and have the lockup come in fairly early to keep the wear down and make it arthritic hand friendly. I put an RCC quick access cover on it so changing it over or clearance won't be an issue. I run a Hays FastTrack handslider in the 14 with only 48 lbs. of static that I can ride to the line and up the return road and 1 finger the lever.

I use a MTC "two Stage lockup" on the street
lever is super light and holds well up top
problem is trying to Launch it hard ,,,,about 50 feet out the clutch comes in and pulls the motor down "too low"

That's why I picked up the hand slider as well
