Don Vesco: The many time motorcycle World Land Speed record holder passed away yesterday after a year long battle with cancer. He raced on the Salt Flats for a half a century and set more significant records than anyone. He was the first to exceed 300MPH with a twin engine TZ Yamaha streamliner in the early 70's. He raised his record to 318MPH in 1978 by installing two KZ1000 Kawis with a turbo. His record was broken in 1990 (322) but his flying mile of over 330MPH is still the fastest. He is the current wheel driven car record holder at 458MPH. Rest in Peace. Don.
